Dear VAMS Families,
This has been a very busy week. All of our students participated in Language
Arts/reading and math benchmarks. The
students worked hard and put forth their best effort. We should receive our reports next week. Our data will be used to determine individual
strengths and weaknesses as well as diving into the vocabulary that students
need to know. In Language Arts, we will
determine the types of questions that are easy for our students and the types
of questions that need more work. Our
math results will identify standards that need more explanation as well as
provide examples of multi-step word problems that are often difficult for
students because they do not read the entire problem.
This year we are creating opportunities
for all of us to help families during the holiday season. In the lobby, we have a Giving Tree. The tree has tags on it labeled with a gift
that we would like to give a child. The
tag also provides a little information about the child such as male or female
along with age of the child. If you’ve
had the opportunity to select a tag, we thank you. Some of you have selected the tag and
purchased the gift. You followed
directions well as you sent the unwrapped gift with the selected tag taped on
the present. We have a few tags left on
the tree. We are asking that gifts with
the tag attached to the gift be sent to the middle school by Friday, Dec.
15. If you prefer to send a gift card to
Walmart or Target, you may and we will purchase the gift for you. You may send gift cards to Ms. Pam and she
will make sure she gives them to Mrs. Johnson.
