DEAR VIKING FAMILIES,
It was
a great week on campus and we only have a couple weeks to go before the long
holiday break. Hopefully you saw our message inviting any qualified VA students
to take a private drivers ed course during break from Jan 2-6th at
the VA high school. If you are
interested, please email me directly as this course needs at least 10
participants to remain open.
Last week
our School Improvement Team worked on our yearly School Improvement Plan, we
will be posting it live for you at the end of next week so you can see what we
are working on now in our continuous improvement model.
Don’t
forget that on Monday, December 4th from 5:00 – 7:00 in the High School
Commons Room, the Voyager High School Music department, will have a BBQ
fundraiser to raise funds for the National Show Choir competition trip to Orlando.
We are selling BBQ by the pound for
$9.00 and BBQ plates for $9.00. We have partnered with Smithfield’s Chicken and
BBQ for their delicious sides and hush-puppies and appreciate their generous
support of this fundraiser.

If you would like to pre-order
and pay for the BBQ, please follow this link. http://www.vafoa.org/
Again, you may pre-order your BBQ
and either pick it up for take-out or dine-in at the High School Commons
Room. This is perfect, because there is a high school basketball game at
home that night against the Australian teams. You can eat dinner and then
enjoy a fun and exciting basketball game! This will be a great way to
support our high school show choir and our high school basketball teams!!
Quick
reminder for all those students interested in playing season in the Spring:
To
all interested soccer players/parents...
From the coach... ‘It's the pre-season workouts and preseason preparedness that separates serious teams from the rest. It’s when we find out if we are serious about SUCCESS!’
A reminder that weight-room workouts begin Nov 28, and every Tuesday and Thursday after that 6:00-7:00 p.m. There will only be 20, one-hour workouts before tryouts.
Remember the physical requirements that have to be met at tryouts in order to make the team (Coach provided a hand-out at the interest meeting in August).
Tryouts will be held Wednesday, February 14th!
Don’t forget the athletic physical and permission forms that must be submitted to Voyager in order to participate.
