Dear VAES Families,
This
year, we have our special “Giving Tree” in the front office of the elementary school.
On it are tags for families in need. The tag has information about
the child's size, age, and gender. If you would like to show empathy and generosity
to a child in need, please come get a tag and purchase a gift. Gifts must
be turned in wrapped to the elementary school by Monday, December 11th.
The tag has a special label on it you can use to mark who is to receive
the gift.
Also,
don't forget that a Middle School student needs donations of crayons, colored
pencils, coloring books, etc. for Duke Children’s Hospital gift bags. You drop these items off at VAES Office.
Thank you to all of the families and friends that supported our
elementary fundraiser. We raised over
$15,000!! Unfortunately, we did not
reach our goal of $20,000, but collecting over $15,000 to support our school is
fabulous! Thank you!!
Don’t forget to order your VAES 2017 Empathy apparel! All orders are due by Thursday, December 7!! The order form has been sent out via email
and you may also download it by CLICKING

Our Lost and Found is “out of control”! Please help our dear Karen Hofmann who has
worked so hard to sort and organize all of the clothing and other items!! Come in and check to see if your child’s
missing jacket, coat, sweater, water bottle, lunchbox, etc. is in our Lost and
Found!! The Lost and Found is located
near the elevators on the first grade hallway.
All items that have not been claimed and picked up by Tuesday, December
19 at 3:15 PM will be donated to charity.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
This year's Book Fair from
December 4 – December 8 is next week and it is going to be HUGE. This Book Fair is going to be so big that we
are holding the Book Fair in the Art/Music Room in the Elementary School AND
the Library. A bigger Book Fair means we
need more volunteers! We will be needing
(8-10) volunteers to help us set up and pack up. Set up is on Thursday November 30th from
12-2pm and pack up is Monday December 11 from 9am- 1pm. There are also
volunteers needed to check out customers while the Book Fair is open. PLEASE consider signing up for a volunteer

COACH HUFF CHRISTMAS BREAK
BASKETBALL CAMP DEC 27-29
Voyager
basketball coach, Mike Huff, will be conducting a basketball camp over the
Christmas holidays for boys and girls in grades 3-8. The camp is open to
both Voyager and non-Voyager students. The camp will be held December 27-29 from 9:00-12:00 each
day. There is also an option for early drop-off.
