From the Managing Director's Desk, March 1, 2020

Good Afternoon Viking Families,

We are closely monitoring news and updates regarding the coronavirus and its potential impact locally. Please refer to the message sent out yesterday related to contact information for state-wide and national updates or alerts. As you are aware, each week, more information is available, and recommendations are changing. To be as proactive as possible, we are taking the following steps to ensure the safety and health of our students, faculty, and staff.  We also heard form a lead representative from our middle school “disease team” at our Board meeting on Thursday and got some great ideas from our students! To that end, we are planning to supply our buildings with additional cleaning and protective products. We are accepting donations from parents for hand sanitizers, bottles of Lysol and paper products. Please feel free to send these items with your child or drop them off at the front desk of your student’s building.  A few items of note:

-- We have established a working group to review policies and procedures and to brainstorm contingency plans should daily instruction/tutoring be impacted
-- We are encouraging everyone to wash hands thoroughly
-- We are placing hand sanitizers in all classrooms and common areas
-- In addition to our nightly cleaning, we are working with our commercial cleaning company to review additional best practices that could be initiated
-- Lastly, as a reminder, students should stay home if they are ill. They should not return until free of fever, vomiting, or diarrhea for 24 hours. In the case of a contagious illness or disease, parents should notify their principal

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please mark your calendars for our 2nd Annual Auction and Gala. The evening is open to all!

Please join us!

The HS Chorus & Band is already in the thick of show choir competition season...and they are so looking forward to performing this year's shows on Friday, March 13th for the entire K-12 student body.

This year, again, we have TWO competitive show choirs: Vocal Affinity & Bull City Lights. However, NEW THIS YEAR--BOTH choirs are accompanied by our all-student combo: Bull City Sound! We are so excited for the entire Voyager community to see these talented students!
