Voyager Academy Middle School News, March 1, 2020

Hello Middle School Families,
It’s hard to believe we have finished the month of February and  school will begin the month of March on Monday! We have 3 months of school before the end of the year and we have much to do!  Thanks to all of you who make getting to school on time a priority. It really does make a difference.

Round 2 of NC Check Ins
We finally completed administration of our Check Ins.  We will receive our results within the next week. The results will show strengths and areas of need for each of our students.  Teachers will be able to use the data to reteach or review particular standards. We will send home the student reports that are provided to us.

How to Get Stay Away From Germs
We are fortunate that we have three eighth graders, Liz, Neera, and Bryce, who are providing tips to the middle school staff and students regarding how to stay healthy.  Liz Lalor attended Thursday night’s Board Meeting to share tips with the Board Members. Liz shared several tips such as sneezing into the clothing on your elbow rather than into your hand, washing your hands to keep the germs away, and putting posters around the school with healthy tips. The team recommends that students stay home when sick.  She also shared that students need to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. It’s also important to keep sanitizer in classrooms as well as Clorox wipes. Great job, Liz!

Some families have asked if they can send in a check made out to Voyager Academy Capital Campaign and the answer is of course you can! Please send a check in a sealed envelope and Capital Campaign on the outside so your child’s teacher can make sure it makes its way into the business office.
