From the Voyager Academy Managing Director, May 28, 2021

 Dear Voyager Community,

The final week of school for students was a celebration of their accomplishments.  The 8th grade team celebrated with awards, highlights, and a video reflection of the year in review.  Our seniors closed out their final week at Voyager with a drive in awards ceremony followed by a parade through campus with all elementary and middle school students cheering for them.  It was truly magical.

And finally, last night we celebrated the culmination of their Voyager education at the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021. We had sunshine and blue skies overhead as we honored our graduates at the Orange County Speedway.  What a unique and fun spirited graduation ceremony to celebrate the Class of 2021 in style.  Student cars were decorated and families and staff cheered on with enthusiasm during the awarding of diplomas and the final victory lap around the track. What a fun evening for all!

Congratulations to the Class of 2021 and to our valedictorian and salutatorian for their achievements. We wish you all continued success on your journey.

Valedictorian - Julia Elise Chorosevic

Salutatorian - Dallas Louise Knight

I also wanted to thank the Voyager community for making my first year so special.  We persevered through a challenging year together and our students continued to excel and shine with Voyager pride and strength.  I hope you all have a wonderful summer.  We look forward to seeing everyone when we return.

The first day of school for students is August 5, 2021. Please ensure all students are present on the first day to ensure they have the best start possible for the new school year.  School funding is tied to our first day attendance so it is critical for all seats to be filled on day one.  Thank you for making your travel plans around the start of school to ensure we have successful start to the new year together.  As I close out the newsletter this year I wanted to share the beautiful story below that one of our elementary students shared with me as a thank you note with a starfish that made my day. I hope it inspires you as well.

Have a wonderful summer,

The Starfish Story

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy was picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “Young man, what are you doing?”

The boy replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out.  If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

The man laughed to himself and said, “Do you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds or starfish? You can’t make any difference.”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it into the ocean, then smiling at the man he said, “I made a difference to that one.”

Thank you for making a difference to me.
