Let's Make Fire! (In Honors Chemistry)

In Honors Chemistry class, students learned how to light a Bunsen burner and how to separate mixtures based on differences in physical properties.

The Return of the VAHS Bass Assassins (the VAHS Bass Fishing Team). Join Us!

The students are asking, and we are willing to answer the call! We just need some help from the VAHS community to help make this happen this year. We need help finding community members that have boats and are willing to come out and join us on a Saturday or Sunday (just a few a month) at one of the local lakes to take a youth group (two per boat) fishing. We are also looking for some local ponds or community lakes that you may have permission to, or can get the club permission to fish, for us to host mini-club tournaments on weekends. Please contact VAHS Science Teacher Christine Huntington at chuntington@voyageracadmey.net if you can help.

Stay Up To The Minute On How Your VAHS Student Is Doing In Each Class

As you know, VAHS uses the learning management system called, Canvas. Learning management systems are used widely in high schools and colleges/universities around the world. Students use Canvas to access course materials, manage an assignment calendar, submit assignments including homework, quizzes, tests, and projects, communicate with teachers, and collaborate with their peers. Canvas is also a multimedia platform, allowing for many different methods of instruction. All grades are posted on Canvas.

One of the great features of Canvas is one that enables a parent/guardian to stay up to the minute with a student’s progress and participation in a class, as a “Parent Observer.” As a Parent Observer, you can also receive email notifications about grades and assignments.

Please click here for instructions on how to log in
as a parent observer on your student’s Canvas account.

Let’s Work Together to Shorten Carline

As you may know, carline has always been a tremendous challenge at Voyager Academy.  Here are 2 great recommendations on how we, as a community, can shorten the carline, and your weight time:

  • It is highly recommended that families from the same neighborhood consider carpooling to school.

  • Consider partnering with another family (or two), to meet up at the Lowe’s parking lot (or another nearby parking lot), to group students in one car. Not only can you take turns dropping off at the school building, but this will also shorten the carline.

Teamwork makes the dream work ! !

Mark Your Calendar for Fall Festival: Friday, Sept. 16, 5:30-8:00pm

Mark your calendar for Voyager Academy Fall Festival!  It is Friday Sept. 16, 5:30-8:00 pm and the rain date is the following day, same time. A Sign-Up Genius will be available soon to obtain parent volunteers. We need help to pull off this event–we had over 2,000 attendees at each festival last school year.

Join the Voyager Academy PTSO

Have you joined the PTSO?  We are hoping to have 100 families per grade join PTSO.  We are a non-profit and all membership goes to providing support for our staff and students. Please click on the link below to join Voyager’s PTSO.

Please click here if you would like to join!
