Spanish 1 Visits Kindergarten
Spanish I students wrote children's books using vocabulary they have learned so far. This week they visited kindergarten classrooms, read their books, and taught them some Spanish vocabulary words and phrases to Voyager Academy Kindergarteners.

- Now - April 5 -- complete your Course Selection Planner (above). Deadline is April 5.
- April 3 -- Receive assistance finishing up your Planner during Advisory (if needed)
- April 6 - April 24 -- Students officially register for courses in Powerschool (instructions here)
- April 24 - During Advisory students verify registration with Advisors (this is the deadline)

Kick Off Spring Break With A Celebration Of Project Based Learning At VAHS On April 6
The Voyager community is warmly invited to join us at Project Exhibition Day on Thursday, April 6, from 4:00pm - 5:30pm
One of the “Gold Standards” of the project based learning process is the creation and exhibition of a public product, as students share their work with the community. Project Exhibition is a proud and strong tradition at Voyager Academy. Come see student projects in action and on full display as we celebrate project based learning at VAHS.

VAHS Show Choir And Band Continues to Shine At The Powhatan Classic In Virginia
The VAHS show choir (“Bull City Lights”) and band (“Bull City Sound”) performed wonderfully at the Powhatan Diamond Classic last weekend in Virginia.
They placed 3rd in their division and took home a trophy!
Maddie Norman received an award for best soloist.
Morgan Savage and David Anderson were our showmanship winners.

We are so proud of our students making it to the top 3. Next up, Charlotte, NC for states on April 22!

Ant-Vape Education Session For Freshmen
As Voyager Academy continues to promote health awareness among students, this Monday morning March 20th, freshmen will participate in an anti-vaping education session called “Vaping 101.” This one-hour session will be led by the POE Center of Raleigh, and is part of the NC Essential Standards Curriculum on Healthful Living. Voyager Academy High School is excited to begin the ticketing process for the Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony at the Carolina Theater! Senior families will receive an email with a google form to order tickets.

Special Tutoring Sessions from National Honor Society
Hello high school parents and students! NHS is offering morning tutoring sessions in Ms. Huntington's room (C115) from 8-8:45. If you or your child needs some extra help you can come to receive tutoring from a current NHS member who is strong in that subject. Hope to see you there!

Free Tutoring From The National Honor Society
The Buddy Program Is BACK!!! The NHS is excited to let parents and students of all Voyager schools know that the Buddy Program is up and running. Stay Up To The Minute On How Your VAHS Student Is Doing In Each Class
As you know, VAHS uses the learning management system called, Canvas. Learning management systems are used widely in high schools and colleges/universities around the world. Students use Canvas to access course materials, manage an assignment calendar, submit assignments including homework, quizzes, tests, and projects, communicate with teachers, and collaborate with their peers. Canvas is also a multimedia platform, allowing for many different methods of instruction. All grades are posted on Canvas.
One of the great features of Canvas is one that enables a parent/guardian to stay up to the minute with a student’s progress and participation in a class, as a “Parent Observer.” As a Parent Observer, you can also receive email notifications about grades and assignments.
