Voyager's High School
Art Program wishes to thank Elizabeth Pope and her family for
their HUGE contribution to our program. They have gifted us with a kiln and
supplies. We cannot express our full gratitude to the family but thank you for
supporting the arts and giving our students a great opportunity! We will keep
you updated on the progress of our clay projects!
We would also like to send out a big THANK YOU to the parents who donated scrapbook paper to the class. We will get great use of these items. Thank you again. This week on our wish list is magazines for students to use for collage and reference. Anything with lots of pictures is great! Thank you for supporting the arts.

The truth is that learning to paint, create a
website, or design an energy-efficient home requires mastering skills which are
often invisible to the naked eye, but are developed through a strong visual
arts education.
While students in art classes learn techniques
special to art, such as how to draw, how to mix paint, or how to center a pot,
they’re also taught a remarkable array of mental habits not emphasized
elsewhere in schools.
Arts education, comprising a rich array of
disciplines including dance, music, theatre, media arts, literature, design,
and visual arts, is a core academic subject and an essential element of a
complete and balanced education for all students!
