Don’t forget that Spring Break begins on Friday, March 30! Spring Break for students and staff is from Friday, March 30 – Friday, April 6. School will resume on Monday, April 9.
Earlier this week, Elizabeth Gardner, a meteorologist from WRAL, came to visit the 2nd graders for their 3rd trimester Weather project. The students heard what the job of a TV meteorologist entails, including waking up at 2:30 each morning to do the morning news, and she talked about severe weather and how to stay safe. The 2nd graders learned if you hear thunder, go inside right away!
We will conduct our Pennies for Patients fundraiser with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) from April 9 – April 13. We will also have a Spirit Week from April 9 - 13! Here are the events:
-Monday, April 9: Hat Day
-Tuesday: April 10: Crazy Hair & Wacky Tacky Day
-Wednesday, April 11: Favorite Book Character Day
-Thursday, April 12: Favorite Sports Team Day
-Friday, April 13: Voyager/Viking Pride Day – wear your Voyager apparel or our school colors, red and blue
For our Pennies for Patients fundraiser for LLS, students can put money in the little classroom collection boxes, in their individual coin boxes (these were sent home along with a flyer with information), and they can also collect money/donations individually online. We are hosting an Usborne Books eFair for Voyager Academy Elementary.

COLLEGE DAY & VOYAGER SPIRIT DAY
We have College Day every Thursday and Voyager Day every Friday. All staff, students, and parents can wear their favorite college apparel on Thursdays and Voyager apparel and/or our school colors (red, white, and blue) to show school spirit and pride on Fridays!!
